German media is reporting the 2016 Mercedes-Benz A-Class facelift will be available on order in July.

The smallest Mercedes-Benz-badged model on sale today is about to receive the same array of cosmetic tweaks as the facelifted B-Class so expect the changes to be subtle. Perhaps the most important news is the additional power from the 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo engine inside the flagship A45 AMG which is expected to deliver as much as 380 PS (280 kW). This additional estimated 20 PS (15 kW) will allow Mercedes-Benz get back the power crown from Audi as their RS3 Sportback with 367 PS (270 kW) managed to dethrone Daimler's model in the horsepower battle of compact hatchbacks.

The added oomph of the A45 AMG will likely shave off 0.1s from the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint time which will likely take four and a half seconds before the hot hatch hits an electronically-limited 155 mph (250 km/h).

According to the report, the facelifted A-Class family is bound to gain optional LED headlights (instead of bi-xenon), updated infotainment system with Wi-Fi hotspot support, LED ambient lighting, revised safety & assistance systems and other minor changes.

Order books are set to open in July while deliveries are scheduled to kick off on September 26.
