A WCF reader has sent us several digital interpretations of the next generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W213).

Scheduled to come out in about a year from now, the all-new E-Class has already been caught on camera several times and from what we have seen so far it will borrow most of the styling from its brothers, the C and S. Attached to this article are renders of the coupe and convertible body styles which will likely come out in 2017 and/or 2018, following the launch of the sedan and estate.

Underneath the familiar design will basically be a new car as the next-gen E-Class will benefit from the MRA platform and according to the latest gossip it will enable a massive weight loss between 70 - 150 kg (154 - 330 lbs). Interestingly, reports are indicating the new mid-size model will get a straight-six 2.9-liter twin-turbodiesel with 313 bhp (233 kW) and there also might be a quad turbo with two e-turbos and an output of more than 400 bhp (298 kW).

Special thanks go to Lutz for sending us the renders!
