Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen has confirmed the XTS is going to be phased out.

Speaking to GM Inside News, de Nysschen said the model will not be replaced when it reaches the end of its lifecycle.  However, the car will remain in production for a few more years as its lifecycle is expected to last until 2019.

Interestingly, the executive suggested they will abandon the livery market when the XTS is phased out.  As de Nysschen explained, "We will not have a car that will lend itself to these kind of modifications [limousines, hearses, etc] and we will probably withdrawal from those markets."

de Nysschen also stated the ATS and CTS won't be getting "direct successors" so there's no point in renaming them to match the new nomenclature that is being ushered in by the CT6.
