Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer has revealed the company could offer an electric vehicle based on the Rapide.

Speaking to Auto Express, Palmer said an engineering feasibility study is already underway and a mock up is in the process of being built.

The executive went on to say the model would feature front and rear electric motors which would given the car all-wheel drive and a combined output of up to 1,000 bhp (745 kW).  The model would also have a number of batteries which could enable the car to have a range in excess of 200 miles.

Aston Martin is still trying to develop a business case for the car but if approved, it could cost approximately £200,000 ($298,255 / €271,465).
