The 2016 Ford Focus RS has hit stateside ahead of next week's official debut at the New York Auto Show.
A couple of days ago, the Blue Oval company announced the imminent arrival of the US-spec Focus RS and yesterday the hot all-wheel drive hatchback was showcased at a media event organized at the Classic Car Club Manhattan. Sitting next to a mint condition 1996 Escort RS Cosworth, the 2016 Focus RS looks aggressive thanks to a wide body and two menacing oval exhaust pipes flanking a diffuser.
Mum's the word regarding the exact output of the EcoBoost four-cylinder 2.3-liter engine but a couple of reports are indicating it will churn 350 PS (345 bhp / 257 kW). The engine is paired exclusively to a six-speed manual transmission sending power to those large 19-inch alloys shod in Pilot Super Sport tires (optional Pilot Sport Cup 2).
This particular Focus RS wears a Nitrous Blue paint scheme but Ford has announced they will also offer Shadow Black, Frozen White and Stealth Gray hues.
You will be able to check it out live starting April 1 at the 2015 New York Auto Show.
