Lately there have been many rumors about a potential Apple-branded car and apparently the Cupertino-based company has actually been sued for poaching A123 Systems employees. There were some reports indicating a collaboration with BMW, but the Bavarian marque denied teaming up with Apple for an all-electric vehicle.

There's no smoke without fire so there are some chances of actually seeing an iCar several years from now. The attached renders show a hypothetical design with Tesla Model S cues and a futuristic interior cabin with an iPhone dock on the center console, large navigation display and another screen for the front passenger.

As far as the technical specifications are concerned, carwow says a range-topping iCar would have a rather modest 250 bhp (186 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) output while the battery pack would last for up to 310 miles (499 km). Once the batteries are depleted, a full recharge of the four-seater electric car would take four hours.

This is just a styling exercise, but the latest gossip indicates an electric car from Apple will be out around 2020 and is expected to feature some form of autonomous driving technology.
