Infiniti has announced plans to introduce the 2016 QX50 at the New York Auto Show.

Infiniti has announced plans to introduce the 2016 QX50 at the New York Auto Show.

The company declined to release pictures but said the model will feature modified bumpers, revised side skirts and a "slightly higher ride stance."  The crossover will also have restyled wheels and an extended wheelbase that is more than three inches longer than its predecessor.

There's no word on performance specifications but the current model has a 3.7-liter V6 engine that produces 325 bhp (242 kW) and 267 lb-ft (361 Nm) of torque.  It is connected to a 7-speed automatic transmission which can be paired to an optional all-wheel drive system.

In related news, Infiniti will also stage the North American debut of the QX30 concept in New York.  It previews a production model that will go on sale early next year.
