Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles boss Dr. Eckhard Scholz has revealed the company could offer a van and a pickup truck in the United States.

Speaking a press conference yesterday, Scholz said “pickup trucks are a dominating segment" and there's been a trend towards compact European vans in the Unites States.  The executive went on to say the company is looking at "both options intensively.”

Scholz declined to go into specifics but Volkswagen of America CEO Michael Horn has previously said the company was eyeing both the Caddy and the next-generation Crafter. Horn has also said the company is considering an all-new pickup because the Amarok is too small for American tastes.
