Chevrolet has announced the 2016 Camaro will be unveiled on May 16 at a special event organized in Detroit.

The reveal will take place on Belle Isle at the 982-acre island park where around 1,000 people will be able to freely attend and check out a "Camaro Museum" displaying the most important models in the history of the model. Moreover, participants will also have the chance to take hot-lap rides in a 2015 Camaro Z/28 around the Belle Isle Grand Prix course as well as meet with Camaro designers and engineers.

Those who want to participate will have to register at www.thecamarosix.com where you can listen to an engine soundtrack as well as view some teaser shots which are currently locked but will become available in the weeks to come to create a buzz around the new Camaro.

Billed as an all-new model, the sixth-gen Chevrolet Camaro will look significantly different than the outgoing model and will lose some serious weight while the entry-level version is expected to get a turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine.
