Motorsport Magazine has conducted a 0-240 km/h (0-149 mph) test with the brand new Porsche Cayman GT4.
Porsche finally built the Cayman fans were waiting for as the Stuttgart-based automaker has installed the 3.8-liter flat-six engine from the 911 Carrera S and they are offering the model exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox. The engine generates 385 HP (283 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) and has enabled the Cayman GT4 lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7 minutes and 40 seconds. The 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) task is completed in 4.4 seconds and it will top out at 295 km/h (183 mph).
Aside from receiving a powerful engine, the range-topping Cayman gets the 911 GT3's brakes as well as most of the suspension. Porsche has also lowered the high-performance coupe by 30mm and are offering at an additional cost carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) seats, carbon ceramic brakes and a Sport Chrono Package that among others includes a Track Precision app.
Pricing in Germany kicks off at €85,779 and the model is already available on order. Porsche has previously announced they will built only around 1,800 - 2,500 units to maintain the model's exclusivity.
