Hyundai India has released an extensive photo gallery for the i20 Active which will be officially launched next week.

Essentially a beefed up version of the regular i20 supermini, the Active model is 10mm longer, 26mm wider and 50mm taller than the standard car and also boasts a 20mm increased ground clearance, now at 190mm. The wheelbase and trunk capacity have remained the same while the body has gained some plastic cladding around the wheel arches, side skirts and the lower areas of the bumpers.

Despite the slightly more masculine appearance, Hyundai will offer the i20 Active exclusively with a front-wheel drive layout while the engines and gearboxes are going to be borrowed from the regular model. It rides on 16-inch alloy wheels and benefits from LED daytime running lights, cornering lights and roof rails.

Inside the cabin, the high-riding model comes nicely equipped with automatic AC, aluminum pedals, rear ventilation, Tangerine Orange or Aqua Blue cabin themes, keyless entry & start, USB & AUX ports, Bluetooth and 1GB of on-board storage. It also gets an eight-speaker sound system, adjustable driver seat & steering column, along with front airbags and vented glove box.

The Hyundai i20 Active is on its way to dealerships in India while details about European availability are not available at this point.
