McLaren has released a new teaser image of their upcoming Sport Series.

Set to debut at the New York Auto Show, the Sport Series will feature distinctive doors with carbon fiber inserts that flow into carbon fiber air intakes.  We can also see door-mounted mirrors and a curvaceous shoulder line.

As we have previously reported, the Sport Series will be launched with an entry-level C and a high-performance S variant.  McLaren has been coy on specifications but the car will have a carbon-fiber monocoque and a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine.  Specifications are still shrouded in secrecy but the company has already confirmed the engine will produce more than 500 bhp (372 kW) and be connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

McLaren CEO Mike Flewitt has also said the Sport Series lineup will be priced to compete with either the Porsche 911 Turbo or Turbo S - depending on the market.
