Police officers from Northumbria Police have seized a tuned Vauxhall Corsa at a drivers’ meeting.
The police reports on Sunday evening, March 8, they received a call that a number of drivers, around 250, had gathered and were driving in an “anti-social manner”. Shortly after, officers attended the event and spoke to a number of drivers.
Three people were fined for different reasons and one car – a Vauxhall Corsa, was seized for having “undisclosed performance modifications”. The car is registered and insured as a standard 1.4-liter petrol vehicle, however, after being examined by police, it was found to have been fitted with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine.
It also had “undisclosed modifications” on it including a sports exhaust system, a sports air induction system, modified and lowered suspension and “aftermarket alloy wheels”. Northumbria Police says the driver has been reported for road traffic and fraud offences and will be summonsed to court in due course.
