According to reports out of Germany, Volkswagen is considering eliminating several slow selling models in an effort to reduce costs.

Nothing is official but Spiegel is reporting the automaker will eventually drop the Polo three-door hatchback.  The five-door variant will continue to be produced but it appears slow sales have doomed its sportier counterpart.

Furthermore, the magazine is reporting the Eos won't get a successor when it goes out of production later this year.  This isn't terribly surprising as the model never really caught on with buyers.

Interestingly, the publication is also reporting Volkswagen could eventually phase out the Beetle.  This is a tad surprising as the company was considering additional variants as recently as last year.
