McLaren has released another teaser video with their upcoming entry-level model scheduled to arrive early next month at the New York Auto Show.
No further details were released but we already know the Sports Series will sit at the bottom of McLaren's range, followed by the Super Series (625C, 650S, 675LT) and the Ultimate Series (P1, P1 GTR). The new model is rumored to receive the P13 moniker and is going to boast a carbon fiber monocoque, with power coming from the familiar twin-turbo V8 3.8-liter engine which in this latest application is expected to develop "well over" 500 bhp.
According to the latest gossip, McLaren's base model will need less than 4 seconds for the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint and should top out at approximately 180 mph (290 km/h).
It is expected to carry a starting price in United States of $180,000 and McLaren has already announced an objective to sell 2,000 units in 2016 which they say will not put a dent in their image of being a "very exclusive company."
It is believed McLaren's Sports Series will consist of at least four models: coupe, spider, more hardcore coupe and a grand tourer, while a track-only GT3 version is apparently in the pipeline as well.
