Following yesterday's reveal, the Audi R8 V10 Plus is now making its video debut ahead of a first public appearance programmed for next week in Geneva.

After months of reports, spy shots and leaked images, the second generation R8 is finally here and will be available from day one in the hotter "Plus" guise featured in the attached clip. Power comes from the familiar V10 5.2-liter naturally aspirated FSI engine which has been reworked to develop no less than 610 HP (449 kW) and a peak torque of 560 Nm (413 lb-ft).

Tipping the scales at 1,454 kg (3,205 lbs), the range-topping R8 sprints to 62 mph (100 km/h) in as little as 3.2 seconds and will keep on accelerating until the digital speedometer within the 12.3-inch instrument cluster will show 205 mph (330 km/h).

In terms of styling, Audi played it safe with the new R8 by adopting the evolutionary route and this first video makes the car look better than what we saw in yesterday's official images. Chances are Ingolstadt's supercar looks even better in real life, especially in the range-topping Plus guise which adds some carbon fiber bits and pieces, standard 20-inch wheels and a fixed rear wing, among others.

Speaking of which, the 2015 Audi R8 lineup (V10, V10 Plus and e-tron) will be shown in the flesh starting March 3 at the Geneva Motor Show before going on sale later this year.
