Following its North American debut, the 4C Spider is about to reach the old continent as Alfa Romeo has announced they'll bring it to next week's Geneva Motor Show.

Scheduled to go on sale this summer, the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider (Euro-spec) will look virtually the same as its American sibling and will get the newly added Giallo (yellow) paint and standard projector-style xenon headlamps while a carbon fiber hardtop and bug-eyed headlights with carbon surrounds will be available at an additional cost.

Also sold as an extra will be the Akrapovic titanium exhaust system mounted in the center and fitted with carbon fiber tips. A carbon fiber air intake system will be offered along with a variety of optional 17- / 18-inch front & 18- / 19-inch rear wheels in dark or silver finishes.

Power comes from the familiar 1.75-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine rated at 237 bhp (177 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque channeled to the rear axle through a twin-clutch transmission (TCT). It's enough muscle for a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) run in less than 4.5 seconds and a 160 mph (258 km/h) top speed.

Joining the 4C Spider at the Swiss auto show will be a slightly updated 4C Coupe which has gained more standard equipment as Alfa Romeo has added Bi-LED headlamps with carbon fiber surrounds, Hi-Fi sound system, luxury floor mats and even a car cover and care kit. Moreover, cruise control and parking sensors have been added as standard equipment while the 4C Spider's projector-style headlamps and Giallo paint will be available as optional goodies later this year.

In terms of pricing, Alfa Romeo UK says the 4C Coupe will kick off at £51,500 whereas the 4C Spider will begin at £59,500.
