Porsche Classic has introduced the "navigation radio" available for a wide variety of classic 911s.

Combining the "style of yesteryear with the benefits of modern technology", the new system is compatible with the DIN-1 slot and comes with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display. It also boasts six integrated buttons and two knobs providing access to a variety of functions such as radio, navigation, external music sources while the available Bluetooth connectivity means the system can be hooked up to a smartphone.

Aside from a built-in microphone, the new Navigation Radio comes with an external microphone and an integrated amplifier delivering 4x45 watts which can be connected directly to the loudspeakers or to the car's stock sound system by using an optional adapter cable. The necessary navigation data providing support for both 2D and 3D maps is stored (and updated regularly) on an 8GB microSD memory card. Porsche says several trial journeys were organized in Europe to test the country-specification navigation and make sure all the data provided is accurate.

Available in Germany for €1,184 (VAT included), the system is compatible with all 911s from the first model to the last ones with air cooling (993 generation) from the mid-90s.
