Chinese automaker Qoros has announced plans to stage the European debut of the 3 City SUV at next week's Geneva Motor Show.

A joint venture of Chery and Israel Corporation, Qoros is new to the automotive game as the company was established in late 2007 and they are currently trying to penetrate the European market with the 3 Hatch and 3 Sedan , with the former being the safest car tested by Euro NCAP in 2013. Now, they are announcing the imminent European market arrival of a crossover which has been on sale in homeland China since December last year.

Technical specifications are not available at this point but since it's based on the 3 Hatch , chances are it will be available with a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine developing 124 bhp (94 kW). The hatchback also has a turbocharged version of the same engine rated at 154 bhp (115 kW). Both of them will likely work with a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional dual-clutch gearbox.

More details will be disclosed on March 3 once the Qoros 3 City SUV will premiere at the Swiss auto show.
