Honda has unveiled the 2015 HR-V production version in European specification.
Back in October last year at the Paris Motor Show we saw a prototype of the European HR-V and now Honda has unveiled the production model which unsurprisingly looks virtually the same. It can be had with either a 1.5-liter i-VTEC gasoline engine developing 130 HP (96 kW) or with a 1.6-liter i-DTEC diesel rated at 120 HP (88 kW). Both come mated to a standard to a six-speed manual gearbox while the gasoline engine can be optionally paired to a CVT.
The subcompact crossover promises to offer the most spacious cabin in its class thanks to Honda's 60:40 split folding Magic Seats while additional room was freed by installing the gas tank underneath the front seats. With the rear seats in position, the trunk capacity stands at 453 liters and can be boosted to an impressive 1,026 liters after folding them down.
The 7-inch (5-inch for lesser models) infotainment system runs on Android 4.0.4 and benefits from Garmin Navigation software while additional apps can be downloaded from the Honda App Center. Numerous connectivity options are available as a wide variety of devices can be connected through USB, HDMI, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and MirrorLink.
Depending on trim, the HR-V can come with a plethora of safety & assistance systems such as Advanced Driver Assist, City Brake Active Assist, Intelligent Speed Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, High-beam Support and Traffic Sign Recognition.
Honda has announced sales of the 2015 HR-V (Euro-spec) are scheduled to kick off this summer.
