Remco Meulendijk of RM Design decided to envision an Opel-badged production version of the Chevrolet Bolt EV concept.

Last month at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Chevrolet introduced the Bolt EV concept which hinted at an upcoming rival for the BMW i3. Earlier this week, a production version was confirmed by the GM-owned company who said it will be built at the Orion Assembly factory near Detroit. There are some rumors about an Opel/Vauxhall-badged version so RM Design decided to envision a potential look for the electric city car.

The Chevrolet version will be the first to come out likely towards the end of next year as a 2017MY and will carry an estimated starting price of $30,000. It will allegedly ride on the Gamma small car global platform and will provide a maximum range of approximately 200 miles (322 km).

They have high hopes for this model as General Motors North America president Alan Batey previously said the Bolt has "potential to completely shake up the status quo for electric vehicles."

If there will indeed be an Opel/Vauxhall version, chance are it won't come out sooner than 2017.
