The flagship sedan is about to reach third generation which will come with significant styling changes compared to the outgoing model, with the most obvious one being the lower roofline. In addition, the front fascia will go through cosmetic surgery and will adopt a larger grille in the same vein as the Genesis. The third side windows appear to be a tad bigger so expect a roomier cabin while the LED taillights have different graphics compared to the second-gen model.

Designed by Peter Schreyer, the overhauled Hyundai Equus will be offered as standard just like before with a rear-wheel drive layout but there are some reports indicating the availability of an optional all-wheel drive system to allow Hyundai better compete with the big names in the full-size luxury sedan segment dominated by the Germans.

A concept previewing the third generation Equus could be revealed as early as April at the 2015 New York Auto Show, with the production model arriving towards the end of the year as a 2016MY.
