The 2015 Volkswagen Caddy has received the GTI and R treatment from X-Tomi Design.
Hot on the heels of this week's reveal, X-Tomi Design decided to turn the 2015 Caddy into a sporty van by applying the GTI and R ingredients onto Volkswagen's fourth generation of the "urban delivery van" also available as a panel van. Needless to say, the Caddy won’t ever receive the GTI or R badge since its sole purpose is to carry people and cargo.
Volkswagen did offer a sporty Caddy back in 2008 with the Carrera Cup Edition 2.0TDI R which was available in only 250 units. The model came with a four-cylinder 2.0-liter TDI engine outputting 140 HP (103 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. It had a beefy body kit with "Carrera Cup" stickers, 17-inch wheels, two-tone leather upholstery and even a fire extinguisher.
As for the new model, it will go on sale this June with a choice of three turbocharged gasoline engines ranging in power from 84 HP (62 kW) to 125 HP (92 kW). Volkswagen will also offer the 2015 Caddy with four TDI engines with outputs varying from 75 HP (55 kW) to 150 HP (110 kW).
