The 2016 Kia Optima has been spied undergoing cold weather testing in Scandinavia.

Dressed in heavy camouflage, the redesigned sedan has an evolutionary front fascia with a prominent grille and LED fog lights. Moving further back, we can see a lower roofline, longer rear doors and new quarter windows that show improve rearward visibility.

While we couldn't get interior photos on this occasion, previous pictures have revealed the model will have a three-spoke steering wheel, chrome trim and a relatively small infotainment system.

Engine options are expected to echo the Hyundai Sonata so choices could include a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 185 bhp (138 kW) and 178 lb-ft (241 Nm) of torque as well as a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that develops 245 bhp (182 kW) and 260 lb-ft (352 Nm) of torque.
