According to a recent report, Volvo is developing a unique system that would allow owners to top off their tank without ever visiting a gas station.

Details are limited but the Daily Mail is reporting Volvo is developing a "self-filling" system that would alert a mobile fuel supplier to refill the vehicle when the tank is almost empty. The fuel supplier would then travel to the vehicle, unlock the fuel cap with a one-time access code and refill the car.

While the service sounds slightly ridiculous, Volvo's Klas Bendrik said "The widespread use of smartphones is unlocking new potential in what you can do connecting a car with a customer." However, when asked directly about whether or not they were developing a mobile refilling service the company simply said "Maybe."
