Ford has confirmed the 3.5-liter V6 engine of the 2017 Raptor produces 450 HP (331 kW).
When the model was unveiled during the 2015 NAIAS earlier this month, the producer announced it will generate more power than the current 6.2-liter V8 with 416 HP (306 kW) and 587 Nm (434 lb-ft) of torque. Now the company’s Global Product Development Vice President Raj Nair confirmed the final output will be 450 HP (331 kW) during a TV interview this weekend.
Ford has already announced the powerplant will be mated to a newly developed 10-speed automatic transmission and an all-new four-wheel-drive system. Thanks to the extensive use of aluminum, the truck is more than 227 kg (500 lbs) lighter than its predecessor.
