According to a recent report, Vauxhall isn't planning to release a high-performance Adam VXR.

Citing a company insider, Auto Express is reporting the company will reserve the VXR moniker for high-performance variants of the Astra, Corsa and Insignia. While nothing is official, the magazine speculations the Adam VXR would have been priced to closely to the upcoming Corsa VXR.

As a result, the Adam Grand Slam will remain the range-topping model. It recently debuted at Autosport International with a turbocharged 1.4-liter petrol engine that develops 150 PS (110 kW) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed manual transmission which enables the hatchback to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 8.5 seconds before topping out at 130 mph (210 km/h).
