One person was killed and 22 injured in a massive crash on the I-94 highway near Michigan, the USA.

According to the police, 26 semis and 34 cars were involved on the eastbound side and other 59 semis and 83 cars crashed on the westbound side. Jean Larocque, a 57-year-old truck driver, was killed, while other 22 persons were hospitalized.

The first accident that caused the whole crash involved nearly 10 trucks and cars in the eastbound lines. It is still unclear how the vehicles from the westbound lines crashed with Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller commenting “it was maybe a whiteout or they were slowing down to see if anything was coming over the median”.

Two firefighters reportedly got hurt when a load of fireworks exploded on one of the crashed trucks that caught fire. About a dozen vehicles, including a truck with a load of formic acid, burned for hours.
