Toyota has publishes several images with the 2016 Tacoma, prior to the model's public debut set for next week at NAIAS.

The official pictures depict a blue 4x4 four-door Double Cab body style featuring an evolutionary design rather than an all-new look. It's unknown at this moment whether this is merely a facelift or an all-new model as Toyota hasn't released any technical details but chances are we are dealing with a styling update without a complete hardware overhaul. The only piece of information shared by Toyota refers to the "new, rugged tech" offered by the 2016 Tacoma, but without any exact details.

In terms of engines, a V6 badge is noticeable at the back of this truck and chances are Toyota will offer four-cylinder engines for lesser models to better compete with the 2015 GMC Canyon and 2015 Chevrolet Colorado.

Toyota will take the wraps off the 2016 Tacoma on January 12 during the first press day of NAIAS.
