The Detroit Electric SP:01 continues its slow march to production as the company has released new details about the upcoming electric sports car.

Set to go on sale next year, the SP:01 features carbon fiber body panels and a variety carbon fiber accessories including a rear spoiler, diffuser and battery cover. Buyers will also be able to choose from a variety of colors including Performance Black, Performance Blue, Performance Green, Performance Orange, Performance Silver, Special White and Special Red. Upon request, customers can order a bespoke paint scheme.

The interior shows the car's Lotus roots but comes nicely equipped with leather or Alcantara sports seats and an 8.4-inch Android tablet that acts as an infotainment system. The model also has power windows / locks, ambient lighting and embroidered floor mats.

Power will be provided by a 285 PS (210 kW) electric motor which can be connected to a manual transmission, a single-speed automatic gearbox or twin-speed automatic gearbox. One of these options will enable the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds) before hitting a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
