The Tesla Model S P85D has been put to the test on dyno for the first time.
The first documented dyno test for the electric vehicle was performed by the DragTimes team. The instant torque of the P85D spun the tires during the first few attempts, as you can see in the video above, causing the car to pull back power. After a couple of more tries, DragTimes were able to successfully perform the test and found out the machine is capable of producing 1170 Nm (864 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels.
Interestingly, according to our source, Tesla “will improve P85D performance at high speed above what anyone outside Tesla has experienced to date” with a free of charge software upgrade to the car. This upgrade will also increase the maximum that currently is electronically limited to 210 km/h (130 mph) speed to 250 km/h (155 mph).
