The first live pictures, depicting the new Mitsubishi Triton, have surfaced the web.
Currently the model is on display at the Japanese company’s booth at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2014. Previewed by the GR-HEV concept, the redesigned Triton comes with a familiar design that features a prominent chrome grille, a new headlamp design with integrated daytime LED running lights and circular fog lights with silver surroundings.
Inside the cabin, the design carries over but higher-end versions feature leather upholstery, gloss black trim, metallic accents and an infotainment system with a seven-inch display. The ladder frame chassis of the pickup benefits from the RISE impact safety body technology which improves the vehicle’s crash worthiness.
Power is provided by a new 2.4-liter diesel unit with 181 PS (133 kW) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque. Other options include the old 2.5-liter turbodiesel in versions with 128 PS (94 kW) and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) of torque and 178 PS (131 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. Petrol fans can order the 2.4-liter petrol engine that produces 128 PS (94 kW) and 194 Nm (143 lb-ft) of torque.
