It's been nearly four years since Audi unveiled the quattro concept at the 2010 Paris Motor Show but design director Marc Lichte has revealed the company still hasn't given up on a production model.

Speaking to Autocar, Lichte confirmed the quattro is still alive and they are considering making it more extreme than the previous two concepts. As he explained, "We have restarted this project and made them more extreme. It’s still a secret though… there will be surprises.”

Lichte also revealed their Tesla Model S competitor will ride on a completely new platform and will be "different" but "not radical." He also suggested the model could be previewed by a concept at an upcoming auto show.
