Following the online premiere from the beginning of the month, Volvo has officially showcased the V60 Cross Country during the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Compared to the standard V60, the CC modification has an increased ground clearance of 65 mm and comes with 18-inch and 19-inch alloy wheels with high profile tires, adding “comfort, off-road aesthetics and reducing road noise”.
The model will be launched first in North America in the first weeks of 2015 with prices starting at $41,000 (32,700 EUR). It will be available with the company’s “iconic” five-cylinder 250 bhp (186 kW) gasoline engine. It will be mated to an automatic transmission, delivering “a highly competitive 23 mpg (12.3 liters per 100 km)”.
Volvo’s Drive-E four-cylinder petrol engines will be available in the V60 Cross Country globally in early 2015. They will be the base for the front-wheel-drive variant, while the five-cylinder D4 powertrain will provide the power for the all-wheel-drive versions.
