Work continues on the 2016 Audi A4 as our spies have managed to catch another prototype undergoing testing in Germany.

Looking instantly recognizable, the sedan has an evolutionary design which mimics newer models such as the A3. As a result, the car adopts a more upright grille which is flanked by angular headlights. We can also see door-mounted mirrors and what appears to be a longer wheelbase. The styling changes are less noticeable out back but there are slender taillights, a dual exhaust system and a trunk with an integrated spoiler.

Audi has been tight-lipped about specifications but the model is expected to ride on the MLB Evo platform and weigh approximately 100kg (220 lbs) less than its predecessor.

Under the hood, we can expect the last crop of Audi engines and possibility a new plug-in hybrid variant that uses a 211 bhp (157 kW) 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder petrol engine and a 95 bhp (71 kW) electric motor.
