Hyundai has announced the all-new second generation i20 will be priced from 10,695 GBP (13,630 EUR) in the United Kingdom and will reach showrooms in January 2015.
“Sporting a sophisticated new design, generous levels of equipment and segment firsts”, the model will be available in six trim levels. The base S model will feature electric front windows, remote central locking, tinted windows and RDS radio with USB, while the upper S Air (11,445 GBP / 14,583 EUR) adds manual air conditioning. Next is the S Blue (12,445 GBP / 15,860 EUR) that comes with start-stop system and low rolling resistance tires.
The SE (12,725 GBP / 16,25 EUR) variants benefit from 16-inch alloy wheels, voice activated Bluetooth system, cruise control with speed limiter, front fog lights, Lane Departure Warning System, rear electric windows and parking sensors. Customers opting for the range-topping Premium (13,725 GBP / 17,500 EUR) and Premium SE (14,725 GBP / 18,765 EUR) models will get an automatic dimming rearview mirror, automatic headlights and wipers, automatic climate control, cornering lights, LED daytime running lights and LED rear lights, projection headlamps, front parking sensors, heated front seats and steering wheel and opening panoramic glass sunroof.
The second generation i20 will be offered with a lineup of four different engines. The gasoline units are a 1.25-liter in versions with 75 PS (55 kW) and 84 PS (62 kW), working with a 5-speed manual gearbox, and a 1.4-liter with 100 PS (73 kW) available with a 6-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. On the diesel side clients can opt for a 1.1-liter with 75 PS (55 kW) or a 1.4-liter with 90 PS (66 kW), both mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
