Back in July we saw the all-new Passat B8 being transformed into a Shooting Brake with two side doors and now Dutch independent artist Remco Meulendijk decided to affix rear doors to boost practicality without significantly affecting styling. These two digital interpretations are not purely imaginative as there are some rumors about a CC Shooting Brake coming in the next few years.

An all-new CC will likely be introduced in the second half of 2016 once again without the Passat name and could spawn a sleeker alternative to the Passat Variant, a model which itself will form the basis of a more rugged Alltrack derivative planned to come out also in 2016.

Until then, the regular sedan and wagon body styles will try and grab as many customers as possible thanks to an evolutionary styling, LED headlights & taillights, new technology and powerful engines such as the 2.0 TSI with 280 HP (206 kW) and a 2.0 TDI bi-turbo rated at 240 HP (176 kW). There’s also a plug-in hybrid mixing up a 1.4 TSI with an electric motor to provide a combined output of 211 HP (155 kW).
