GMC has announced a series of upgrades to the 2015 Yukon Denali and Yukon XL Denali.

First and foremost, the 6.2-liter V8 engine - that develops 420 bhp (313 kW) and 460 lb-ft (623 Nm) of torque - is now connected to a new eight-speed automatic transmission. The company says the transmission provides smoother performance, quicker shift times and improved fuel efficiency. Speaking of the latter, the four-wheel drive Yukon Denali is now rated at 15 mpg city and 21 mpg highway.

Besides the new eight-speed automatic transmission, the SUVs gain a hands-free power liftgate, a wireless smartphone charger and OnStar with 4G LTE. There's also an improved Intellilink infotainment system which provides incoming ‘Text Message Alerts’ when paired to a compatible Bluetooth phone.

The 2015 Yukon Denali and Yukon XL Denali are currently on sale and pricing starts at $64,965 and $67,665, respectively.
