Kia has released the first image depicting the US-spec 2016MY Sorento which will premiere in less than two weeks at Los Angeles Auto Show.

Last month in Paris we saw the all-new Sorento in European specification and now Kia is providing a first glimpse at its American sibling which will adopt a set of flashy chrome wheels. The same shiny treatment has been applied onto the side mirrors and chances are this finish will be reserved to the upper-spec models.

Another major difference is the adoption of "ice cube" fog lights as seen in the Optima and the Euro-spec cee'd GT models while the orange turn signals are no surprise given the U.S. rules. There aren't any details available about the model right now but Kia Motors America did announce the 2016MY Sorento will be sold in L, LX, EX, SX and SXL trim levels and with up to three-row seating.

We remind you the Euro model is available in both five- and seven-seat versions and can be had with a four-cylinder 2.4-liter gasoline engine delivering 188 HP & 241 Nm. This motor could make it stateside unlike the 185 HP & 402 Nm 2.0-liter and 200 HP & 441 Nm 2.2-liter turbodiesels available for the Euro-spec variant.

All the details will likely be available on November 18 during the first press day of the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.
