Ram Trucks CEO Bob Hegbloom had downplayed the possibility of a Ram 1500 Hellcat.

Ram Trucks CEO Bob Hegbloom had downplayed the possibility of a Ram 1500 Hellcat.

When Car & Driver asked Hegbloom if the company would offer a Ram 1500 Hellcat, he said "At this time, I would say no." That doesn't necessarily mean there won't be one in the future but Hegbloom said the company is currently focused other areas with "bigger opportunity."

While it's sad to hear we won't be getting a successor to the Ram SRT-10 anytime soon, it's possible that the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine - that develops 707 bhp (527 kW) and 650 lb-ft (880Nm) of torque - could eventually show up in other models such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
