Although developed specifically for the Chinese market where it is locally built, Hyundai's ix25 petite crossover will eventually reach European and US markets. It's still a long way to go as the report indicates a 2017 availability but according to the same source Hyundai will soon launch a crossover-like version of the i20 to fill in the gap.

Details about the international version of the ix25 are not available at this point and it's unknown where it will be built. What we do know is the China-spec version is 4270mm long, 1780mm wide, 1630mm tall and features a 2590mm wheelbase. Hyundai is planning an Indian launch of the ix25 by the middle of next year.

We remind you that Hyundai already previewed plans for a subcompact crossover with greater availability back in March at the Geneva Motor Show where they displayed the Intrado concept.
