Toyota has released new details about the 2015 Tundra TRD Pro Desert Race Truck that will compete in the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000.

Toyota has released new details about the 2015 Tundra TRD Pro Desert Race Truck that will compete in the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000.

Set to be on display at SEMA, the truck is based on the 2015 Tundra TRD Pro CrewMax and features a number of modifications including Bilstein shocks, high-performance brakes and 17-inch forged alloy wheels with 37-inch BFG Baja T/A KR tires. The truck also has auxiliary lights, a chromoly rollcage and a custom fuel cell. Other notable highlights include three Mastercraft racing seats, two Lowrance navigation systems, a race radio and an intercom.

Power is provided by a 5.7-liter V8 engine which has been equipped with a cold air intake and a cat-back exhaust system. There's no word on performance specifications but the standard engine develops 381 bhp (284 kW) and 401 lb-ft (543 Nm) of torque.

The truck will be driven by Ted Moncure, Andy Bell, Jamie Bestwick and Ryan Millen. Toyota Trucks Chief Engineer Mike Sweers and Toyota Production Engineer Samantha Stone will act as navigators and the whole team will be coached by Ivan “Ironman” Stewart who is a 22-time Baja 500 and 1000 champion.
