According to a recent report, Mazda will introduce the entry-level CX-3 crossover at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Set to debut alongside the facelifted CX-5, the CX-3 will be based on the Mazda2 and feature an increased ride height as well as ruggedized styling cues.

Engine options will reportedly carryover from the Mazda2, so European spec models could feature:

  • A 1.5-liter SKYACTIV-G with 75 PS (55 kW) and 135 Nm (99 lb-ft) of torque
  • A 1.5-liter SKYACTIV-G with 90 PS (66 kW) and 148 Nm (109 lb-ft) of torque
  • A 1.5-liter SKYACTIV-G i-ELOOP with 115 PS (85 kW) and 148 Nm (109 lb-ft) of torque
  • A 1.5-liter SKYACTIV-D with 105 PS (77 kW) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque

Regardless of the final specifications, the website suggests the model will be front-wheel drive only.
