Dodge has announced production of the Viper will restart in mid-November at the Conner Avenue plant in Detroit.

At the beginning of last month Dodge disclosed plans to shave off $15,000 from the price tag of all unsold 2013MY and 2014MY Vipers. In addition, more than 1,000 owners who purchased the Viper starting with the 2013MY received a coupon for an additional $15,000 off available through January 2, 2018. These price adjustments have allowed Dodge to sell 108 Vipers in September which is considerably more than the 38 units sold in August.

Although Dodge has received approximately 200 orders for the newly introduced 2015 Viper ($15,000 cheaper than 2014MY), production will not be restarted right away as they still have to get rid of excess inventory which is why the assembly line will be reopened in the middle of November. Initially, only GT and SRT trim levels will be built while the TA and GTS versions will resume production once the inventories of unsold 2013 and 2014 Vipers will decline.
