Porsche's hybrid powertrain manager Manfred Schurmann has confirmed the company has no immediate plans for hybrid versions of the 911 and the Macan.

Speaking to TopGear during the launch of the Cayenne S E-Hybrid, Schurmann commented that the manufacturer’s current hybrid system is “too big” for the Macan. “The packaging is impossible for the Macan”, he said.

According to the publucation, contrary to previous reports, the 911 also won’t get a hybrid powertrain in its current 991-generation and in the generation that will replace it, too. At the beginning of the month, Porsche CEO Matthias Muller commented that “there is no reason against it (the hybrid 911) and we will see if we have some reasons to do it”.
