A new report indicates Daimler wants to purchase a stake in Italian motorcycle manufacturer MV Augusta, following a rumor from August.

Citing financial sources in Milan, German daily Sueddeutsche Zeitung says Daimler through its AMG division will acquire a 25 percent stake in MV Agusta for approximately €30 million. The report also mentions Daimler will have the possibility of raising its stake in exchange for additional investments in the company

A deal between the two parties could be signed as early as next year, although Daimler refused to comment while a response from MV Agusta has not been provided yet.

We remind you that a couple of years ago Volkswagen through its premium brand Audi purchased Ducati and now it seems another German marque is eyeing a motorcycle manufacturer, in which the Castiglioni family has a majority stake.
