Nissan has released two videos which show their ZEOD RC on the Top Gear test track.
In the first clip, the race car is driven by Wolfgang Reip who manages to post a 1:13.6 lap time in EV mode. Reip then switched to combined mode - which enables the petrol engine and electric motor to work together - and was able to post a time of 1:05:3 - an improvement of 8.3 seconds.
The second clip features Top Gear magazine editor Ollie Marriage who puts in a short lap before saying "It drives just like a normal car, just like a normal racing car at least." Marriage goes on to say it's tricky to drive in combined mode but once you get a handle on it "It's really, really amazing."
