The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat with VIN #0001 has been sold for the staggering sum of $825,000.

Dodge is asking $60,000 for the 2015MY Challenger SRT Hellcat but someone was willing to pay almost 14x more to get his hands on the first product unit. This might sound a bit insane but it was all for good and valid reasons as the money obtained from the sale will all be going to charity. The vehicle was sold on Saturday during a Barrett-Jackson auction and all the proceeds will go to the Opportunity Village not-for-profit organization which helps the intellectually handicapped living in the Las Vegas area.

Aside from being the first production Challenger SRT Hellcat, the vehicle also features a hand-painted Stryker Red exterior paint scheme which is available exclusively on the Viper. In addition, it also comes with special SRT Hellcat badging, specific VIN documentation along with unique memorabilia and black Laguna leather upholstery.

Power is provided by the already well-known supercharged V8 6.2-liter HEMI engine outputting 707 bhp (527 kW) and 880 Nm (650 lb-ft) which in this particular case has been teamed up with the optional eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission but Dodge is also offering a standard six-speed manual gearbox.

The owner received a HEMI Orange-painted presentation box with VIN #0001 electronic vehicle build book, still shots, video documentary, vehicle footage along with a signed SRT Hellcat lithograph, Challenger SRT Hellcat embossed Laguna Leather iPad sleeve and a bespoke "birth certificate" for the VIN #0001.
