X-Tomi has digitally envisioned the next generation Volkswagen Transporter.

The Hungarian designer has based his work on the recent Tristar Concept that was unveiled at the IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover. Having in mind the rugged van is a preview of the T6, we could assume the final production model could end up looking like these renderings.

Little is known about the model but the engine range will reportedly include a 2.0-liter petrol unit with 224 HP (165 kW) and a 2.0-liter diesel with 231 HP (170 kW). Front-wheel drive will be standard, but all-wheel drive could be offered optional.

The Tristar Concept is powered by a 2.0-liter TDI engine that produces 201 bhp (150 kW) and 450 Nm (331 lb-ft). Power is sent to a 4MOTION all-wheel drive system through a 7-speed DSG transmission.
