A classic Jaguar XK-E has returned to its rightful owner after no less than 46 years since the car was stolen.

It was 1968 when this white Jaguar XK-E parked in front of the owner's apartment in Manhattan was stolen and now 82-year-old Ivan Schneider has received his car back. A former lawyer, Schneider paid $5,000 for the XK-E back in 1967 with the money earned after winning a big case. The vehicle was found late last month during an inspection of a cargo leaving the Port of Los Angeles where the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents also stumbled upon a 1976 Mercedes-Benz 280, a 2007 Mercedes-Benz E350 and a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

After being reacquainted with his old love which in current condition is worth around $23,600, Schneider is planning to do a full restoration job as a Christmas gift. Back in the day he drove the car for 6,000 miles (9,656 km) during a short six-month ownership but now the XK-E has more than 28,000 miles (45,061 km) on the odometer.
